As the Christmas break approaches, the University is encouraging all students to celebrate safely and responsibly and ensure that they secure their properties when away from their term time address.
The PSNI are reporting a significant increase in break-ins and burglaries in the area of South Belfast during this period, which was also an issue for many students returning from their break last January.
As a landlord/agent in the local area, we wish to share this information in the hope you will disseminate it with your tenants/guarantor’s and promote the safety advice we are sending to students which is to ‘Lock up your property, take all valuables home over the period, tell your landlords it’s secure and do not give your keys to friends or family.’
