Fire safety is one of the most important considerations in HMO properties

There are various requirements around fire safety in HMO properties that go beyond what would be required in a non-HMO property. The main resource is the HMO Fire Safety Guide published by the Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service. For landlords that previously operated under the NI Housing Executive HMO registration scheme, we cover some of the main considerations since the introduction of the HMO licensing scheme on 1st April 2019.
