The following will be going out to landlords and agents in relation to the proposed locations for alleygating in the Holylands over the next few weeks from City and Neighbourhood Services Department, Belfast City Council.
They will be contacting you as owners / managers of housing within the Holylands area, for your support/ agreement / disagreement to installing gates at the agreed locations within the area.
They will also write to each property as directed in the legislation, asking them to complete and online survey.
They will not be asking you to complete the online survey due to the amount of addresses that you would have to input. and they thought it would be better to do it this way.
Attached to this news item there is a spreadsheet attached with two tabs:
One for you to input the addresses which you manage, and one with a short questionnaire which I can assume covers all the properties listed.
They are asking you to input an electronic signature as well which would enable them to submit this to Legal Services to ask them to let the Council enact the legislative process.
Also attached a copy of the maps showing the proposed locations – this may change slightly in a couple of locations due to access / design issues.
The proposed gates are marked as yellow.
They have attached the notice of intention detailing the streets and addresses which will be affected by the installation of gates.
They are hoping to go forward with a separate Traffic Regulation Order (gating order) for the Holylands, rather than a Belfast Order, as this will be completed quicker than the other areas being surveyed.
If you have any queries please contact Neighbourhood Services and they will deal with your query bellg@belfastcity.gov.uk or call 028 90320202 ext 3797
